Spotlight on Anna's Coastal Art

IN 2021 PAWS AT THE PARK IS CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF OUR GOLD COAST DOG MARKETS! TO CELEBRATE, WE’RE HIGHLIGHTING SOME OF THE SMALL DOG BUSINESSES THAT HAVE BEEN WITH US FROM THE EARLY DAYS.

Anna’s Coastal Art is an Australian artist who creates personalised portraits of your much-loved pets in acrylics and oils.

When was your first Paws at the Park and why did you decide to have a stall at the market?

My first Paws at the Park was in 2016 in Varsity. I had been lucky enough to have had my portraits spotted by Lia and she thought they would be well suited for the dog market so I decided to give it a try!

You've been a regular stallholder - having a stall at almost every event - what do you love about Paws at the Park?

Oh that's easy - all the amazing dogs. You get to see every possible breed under the sun in one day and just being around them makes you feel good. It's also fun to chat with all the dog owners as they're always a friendly bunch!

Do you have a stand out memory from any event you've attended?

That first event will always be extra special to me because that's when I realised that people liked what I do. I couldn't believe the amount of orders I got.

My son was with me that day helping out and that night we flew out to Sweden to visit family. Many happy memories!

What do you love about meeting your customers at the dog market?

I'm pretty sure I have the nicest customers. Many of them return to order more portraits as they have several pets or they want to surprise a family member or friend with a very personal gift.

People tell me funny pet stories and sometimes some very sad ones when an animal has passed away. I'm always blown away by the very deep love everyone has for their dog ( dogs ). I'm greatful to be part of that on the day and I enjoy building relationships with my customers.

Why should attendees visit your stall in August?

When someone books a portrait on the day they get 20% off my normal prices. I only do this at Paws at the Park. They also have a chance to win a 16 x 20 inch acrylic personalised portrait valued at $500. I offer Gift Vouchers and they have become very popular and there are also plenty of doggie portraits to check out.

Be sure to visit Anna’s Coastal Art at our next dog markets!
